SteppingStones- Proud Sponsors of the Chamber of Commerce Be Informed Series

SteppingStones is delighted to be ongoing and active supporters of The Cayman Islands Chamber Of Commerce and recently sponsored the second of their Be Informed series presentations.

The event was held on 26th May 2010 at The Westin Hotel. Mrs. Sherri Bodden-Cowan, Chairman of the Immigration Review Team spoke to a full house and gave an excellent presentation on the team’s key immigration concerns and the resulting proposed directives. Mrs. Bodden-Cowan discussed proposed new immigration reforms regarding the Rollover Policy, the possibility of reducing the break in stay and increasing the length of stay permitted from 7 years to 9 years or longer for work permit holders.

Further information was provided on the proposed Accreditation System which will be rolled out cautiously over a period of time.

Members of the Immigration Review Team were in attendance together with senior immigration officicals; Chief Immigration Officer, Mrs. Linda Evans, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer (Enforcement and Intelligence), Mr.Gary Wong; Deputy Chief Immigration Officer (Border Control), Mr. Bruce Smith; and Director of Boards and Work Permits, Mrs. Sherryl Miller. Members of the public were invited and encouraged to use this excellent opportunity to ask pressing questions on these hot and pressing topics.
