Step Ahead in Your Career Workshop for Young Caymanians, March 2009

In a follow up to this year’s Careers Expo, Stepping Stones Recruitment Training and Development Ltd, provided a personalised workshop to a group of young Caymanians.  The workshop was designed to assist participants in resume writing, gain confidence in their ability to prepare for and interview well and have a better understanding of how to get ahead at work.

“The team at SteppingStones has over 25 years of interview and selection experience and has helped hundreds of young people in Cayman to gain employment and move on in their careers”, said Milly Serpell, SteppingStones Managing Director.  “Having talked to young people, we decided to offer a small informal group session in order to provide an environment where participants could feel comfortable about getting involved and get the most out of the different activities.  It worked really well and the feedback from participants was very positive.  They felt that the group size and informal atmosphere was great because they got more one to one attention.  They also said that the individual interview practice was particularly useful.”

“Getting a good start in employment and being competitive in your chosen career is always important and never more so than in today’s society.” said Milly.  “We are delighted to have been able to work with some enthusiastic and motivated young Caymanians, sharing our knowledge and experience and helping to prepare them for the next step in their career.  We have been really encouraged by the response we had to our first session and, having used participants’ comments to improve the workshop, we now hope to be able to provide similar support in the future.”
