Technical Architect

Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join our client’s Managed Services Provider team in Cayman Islands. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing hybrid IT environments, including cloud solutions, cybersecurity frameworks, and hardware/software integrations. As a Technical Architect, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and craft solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies in cloud, on-premises infrastructure, and security.
 
Responsibilities: 

• Solution Design & Architecture: Design and develop comprehensive IT architectures for clients, focusing on hybrid IT (on-premises and cloud) environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Architect cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for various business needs, including cloud migration, optimization, and management of hybrid cloud environments.
• Cybersecurity: Integrate robust security measures within solutions, including network security, identity management, data encryption, endpoint protection, and compliance
• Infrastructure: Oversee the selection and integration of hardware (servers, storage, networking equipment) and software (enterprise applications, virtualization platforms) to ensure seamless operation within hybrid environments.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a technical lead for project teams, providing guidance on best practices, technology trends, and architectural decisions to ensure successful implementation and delivery.
• Vendor Management: Work closely with third-party vendors to evaluate and select appropriate technology solutions for client needs, including hardware, software, and cloud platforms.

 
Experience & Skills required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years experience working with technical architecture, systems design, or a senior engineering role, ideally with an MSP background 
• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect), cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM), or networking (CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
• Extensive Knowledge of Hybrid IT Solutions, designing and managing both cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, such as microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless architectures, and cloud automation tools.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including network security, identity access management (IAM), firewalls, VPNs, threat detection, and data encryption.
• Experience in networking, virtualization, storage solutions, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience in integrating enterprise software solutions (e.g., ERP, CRM) and managing complex software environments.
• Ability to lead technical projects from inception to delivery, working closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
• Flexibility to be on call and attend client sites out of hours or occasionally on weeks
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, balancing priorities and deadlines.
