Senior Internal Auditor

Description

SteppingStones are working on behalf of our client and seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Internal Auditor to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits to assess the adequacy of internal controls, evaluate risk management, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. You will collaborate with senior management to plan audits, gather and analyze data, and provide recommendations to improve the efficiency of operations and reliability of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Senior Vice President, Group Internal Audit, in developing audit plans covering key operations, risk, and compliance areas.
• Stay current with all relevant standards, laws, regulations, and company policies affecting internal audits.
• Evaluate the adequacy of risk management and governance processes.
• Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to management.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation.
• Provide guidance to business units on complex issues.
• Assist with investigations and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a recognized audit qualification (CPA, CA, IIA, ACA, CIA).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial sector, with at least 3 years in Audit, Compliance, or Operational Risk Management.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and banking regulations.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to present detailed reports

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and business software.
• Ability to gather, evaluate, and present data effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with management.
