Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing the processing of accounts receivable and payable transactions in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Monthly preparation of reconciliation of other IRIS reports.
- Monthly preparation of accrual journals and other manual journal entries (as needed) in the General Ledger.
- Reconciling the fixed asset Register to the General Ledger on a monthly basis, as well as documenting, investigating and clearing any differences promptly.
- Coordinating activities related to physical inventory counting and reconciling physical inventories to the Client’s records, and attaching identification tags or other identifying numbers to assets;
- General Ledger responsibilities including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end closing activities related to Fixed Assets to comply with International Public Sector Accounting Standards and the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision).
- Assist in the preparation of the strategic policy statement, bi-annual budget, supplementary budget, within-year appropriation changes, and related information.
- Monitoring of accounts on the Entity and Executive ledgers. This review includes monthly, half-yearly, annually and ad hoc reporting
Essential Knowledge/Experience
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business discipline or equivalent
- Should have at least 3 years relative work experience
- Should have at least 1 year supervisory experience
- Experience with financial reporting, analysis, and preparing statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Sniro Acc
