Operations Associate

Description

This role, based in the Cayman office, offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-evolving sector, contributing to global financial operations with a focus on crypto markets.

What you’ll do

• Support trading processes in global markets, focusing on crypto business and extending to asset classes like Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, and Commodities.
• Handle account maintenance, collateral and position management, and accurate bookkeeping of coins across all crypto exchanges.
• Perform daily affirmation and reconciliation of positions and cash activity to minimize operational risk and maximize straight-through processing.
• Monitor and report daily PnL (Profit and Loss) for various markets to senior management.
• Investigate and resolve queries raised by trading desks, other departments, and counterparties.
• Build business intelligence reports regarding operational activities for management.
• Collaborate with trading and support teams to address daily operational issues.
• Document operational procedures.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field; CFA designation is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for continuous learning.
• 3-5+ years of experience in capital markets or crypto operations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across trading teams and software development teams.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with a “wear multiple hats” mentality.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and conditional statements.
• Familiarity with workflow management software such as JIRA.
• Experience in financial and crypto markets is a strong advantage.
