Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)

Description

The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of large machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, and other construction
equipment.

      Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks on machinery to thwart potential failures and guarantee smooth operations. 
  • Interpreting technical manuals and drawings to execute repairs and enhancements.
  • Collaborating with other mechanics and management to maintain machinery schedules and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Testing repaired machinery to verify successful restoration and adherence to performance and safety standards.
  • Researching and ordering parts.

    Tasks and Duties

  • Inspecting heavy equipment for proper performance and detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Dismantling faulty equipment parts and installing new or fixed parts. 
  • Cleaning and lubricating equipment and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Keeping detailed records of serviced machines and reporting progress and issues to management.
  • Advising management on recommended equipment servicing and maintenance schedules.

      Education and Certification Requirements

  • Vocational certification or an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Certifications would be preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance will be required.
  • Strong understanding of electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
