Operations Analyst

Description

SteppingStones is partnered with a leading independent financial firm with a strong focus on cryptocurrency and a range of capital market operations, looking to add an Operations Analyst to their ranks here in Cayman.
  
Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with financial operations on a global scale, primarily concentrating on the cryptocurrency sector while also engaging with various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to define and implement new processes, address ad-hoc challenges, and suggest improvements for existing operational tasks related to global cryptocurrency markets. 
• Account maintenance, collateral and position management, and accurate bookkeeping for all cryptocurrency exchanges.
• Conduct daily affirmation and reconciliation of positions and cash activities to minimize operational risk and enhance straight-through processing.
• Monitor and report daily profit and loss metrics for different markets to senior management.
• Investigate and resolve inquiries raised by trading desks, internal departments, and counterparties.
• Generate business intelligence reports on operational activities for management review.
• Work alongside trading teams and support staff to address daily operational issues.
• Document operational procedures comprehensively.

  
Qualifications:

• A degree in finance, economics, computer science, or a related field; CFA designation is advantageous.
• A proactive attitude with a strong enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• 3-5+ years of experience in capital markets or cryptocurrency operations.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in collaborating with trading and software development teams.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to take on multiple roles.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and conditional statements.
• Familiarity with workflow management tools, such as JIRA.
• Experience in financial and cryptocurrency markets is highly desirable.

  
Salary on offer is US$120k plus bonus, benefits & relocation package where applicable.
