Accountant
Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the financial services industry and a proven track record in managing financial records, reporting, and compliance. This role involves overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Cayman tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Maintain and update accounting systems and software to ensure data accuracy.
- Support audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve queries.
- Provide support for financial planning, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of Cayman Islands tax regulations, including VAT and other local financial laws.
- Familiarity with Cayman Islands Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and compliance practices.
- Experience with Cayman Islands financial reporting requirements and working with local regulatory bodies, such as the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).
- Strong understanding of offshore accounting practices and international financial regulations.
- Experience working with international clients and cross-border transactions.
