Billing Assistant - Contract

Description

In this role, you will work closely with the Legal Secretarial team, supporting Finance and Corporate Fee Earners with all billing-related tasks.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare draft bills for fee earners upon request; review and edit pre-bills in response to fee earners’ requests.
  • Ensure bills are processed in a timely manner and promptly address billing-related queries when required.
  • Generate WIP (Work in Progress) and A/R (Accounts Receivable) reports.
  • Actively follow up with Partners, Associates, and Secretaries to confirm whether bills have been sent to clients.
  • Monitor e-billing progress and liaise with other offices and the global Finance team.
  • Ensure necessary approvals are obtained for special rates, agreed fees, and charge-out rates.
  • Process edits of fee earners’ time entries and transfer time between client matters as required.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the matters handled by the Cayman office to facilitate efficient billing cycles and ensure tight billing deadlines are met.
  • Submit and process bills and invoices via the 3E system.

What you’ll bring

  • 1-2 years of accounting and billing experience in professional services firms.
  • Degree in Accounting & Finance, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Experience with billing systems such as 3E (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
