Compliance Manager
Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, in this role you will play a key part in supporting the Head of Compliance to oversee the comprehensive Compliance framework within our client’s organization.
What you’ll do
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge and awareness of the Cayman Islands Regulatory Landscape, with a particular focus on the Cayman Islands AML Regulations, Guidance Notes, and the Companies Act.
- In-depth understanding of the functions of key Cayman Islands competent authorities – Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and the Financial Reporting Authority (FRA) relevant to our status as a regulated licensee.
- Identify AML/CFT/PF risks and contribute to the review and updates of compliance onboarding documentation, such as risk matrices/checklists.
- Review and provide sign-off for compliance files during the onboarding of new clients, ensuring adherence to KYC and CDD requirements.
- Maintain ongoing monitoring and re-reviews of client CDD files based on risk ratings.
- Regularly review sanction screening systems, manage inputs, and address false positives/true matches.
- Coordinate annual AML/cybersecurity training for the organization.
- Manage a comprehensive compliance calendar and update various logs as required by AML regulations.
- Provide regular reporting on policy adherence by the business, advising and intervening where necessary.
- Continuously review and update policies and procedures in response to changing regulations and market practices.
- Lead or coordinate regulatory inspections and undertake annual reviews of client files.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in providing AML/Compliance/governance services.
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and language skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to prioritize and respond promptly to business demands related to compliance queries.
- Legal, governance, or compliance qualification is preferred, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.
- Experience in a senior role with comfort in liaising directly with senior management.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime hours when required.
